  15. We are currently using Kermit 3.14 for DOS (a Columbia University 
  16. product). We use this product in *Server Mode*, under Windows 3.x 
  17. running it inside a DOS window (using a *.PIF file)
  18. Our Windows application is starting KERMIT.EXE and then waits for 
  19. files to be received from a remote location (using the Kermit 
  20. protocol). Since this is a monitoring application, it is running 
  21. all the time, and expects the Kermit server to do the same.
  22. There is no human intervention required.

  24. THE QUESTION
  25. ----------------------
  26. Is there a WINDOWS communication software package on the market 
  27. today that is similar to Kermit's Server software (i.e., one 
  28. which is always ready to receive files in the windows environment 
  29. that is for Windows 3.11)?  
  30. Note, we already know that there is Kermit for Windows 95 but not 
  31. for Windows.
